A screening of AK-47 vs. M16, The Film begins at 5 pm in the Edlis Neeson Theater. The talk follows the film in the MCA's atrium at 6 pm.
About the Speakers
Dr. Nora A. Taylor is the Alsdorf Professor of South and Southeast Asian Art History at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is the author of Painters in Hanoi: An Ethnography of Vietnamese Art
Based in Chicago, Ivy Wilson is a writer and cultural critic whose recent work has been interested in the relationship between aesthetics and politics, contemporary art of the modern global city, and the practices of transnationalism. He teaches at Northwestern University, where he is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Art, Theory, and Practice as well as the Program in Asian American Studies. His latest piece was an essay on The Propeller Group for the 100th issue of Art Asia Pacific.
